Connect Raleigh – Bridging the Digital Divide

Welcome to Connect Raleigh!

At Raleigh With Us (RWU), we believe that access to technology is a right, not a privilege. That’s why we created Connect Raleigh, a program designed to bridge the digital divide in our community by providing laptops and internet access to underserved families in the Raleigh-Durham area (RDU). By partnering with local organizations and mobilizing community support, we are ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn, work, and thrive in today’s digital world.

Why Connect Raleigh?

Many families in our community still lack access to the internet and essential digital tools. This digital divide creates barriers for students trying to learn, job seekers looking for opportunities, and families needing to stay connected.

Did you know?

15% of households in Wake County don’t have a broadband internet connection (U.S. Census Bureau).

43% of low-income households in the U.S. lack access to a computer at home (Pew Research Center).

Nearly 20% of North Carolina K-12 students have no home internet, affecting their education (NC Broadband Infrastructure Office).

This is why we are taking action. Connect Raleigh is our way of ensuring that no one in our community is left behind.

How We Make It Happen

We work with local partners, donors, and volunteers to bring digital resources to those who need them most. Here’s how we do it:

Partnering with Local Organizations – We collaborate with groups like Project Access and Neighbor-to-Neighbor to reach families in need and provide them with laptops and internet access
Funding Through Community Support – We source funding through grants, donations, and proceeds from RWU merchandise sales. Every RWU purchase helps sustain this initiative!
Laptop Donations – We accept in-kind support through donations of laptops by individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Providing Digital Training – We ensure recipients have the skills to use their new technology effectively by offering basic digital literacy workshops and online support.
