This September, we’re bringing the spirit of Nigeria to the Triangle with a full weekend of culture, connections, and community pride.

In partnership with Young Africans of the Triangle (YAT) and Ujah Realtors, Raleigh With Us invites you to join us as we honor Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day with three powerful events. From networking with local professionals to dancing to Afrobeat rhythms and enjoying authentic food and cultural showcases, this weekend is designed to connect, inspire, and celebrate.

A Weekend of Celebration

Day 1 – Business Networking Mixer

The District, 222 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh

Friday, Sept 26 | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

We start the celebration on a high note! The Networking Mixer is where culture meets business. Picture a lively yet professional atmosphere with entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives from across RDU all in one room.

Highlights include:

A Short Tank–style pitch game where participants showcase ideas and compete for small prizes.

Raffles and giveaways that add excitement to the evening.

Open networking designed to foster real collaborations and connections.

Whether you’re a young professional looking to build your network or an entrepreneur seeking partnerships, this event is your chance to connect with the movers and shakers of the Triangle.

Day 2 – Nigerian Independence Day Celebration

Peace & Saint, Raleigh

Saturday, Sept 27 | 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM

On Saturday night, Raleigh turns green and white! 🎉 This is the centerpiece of the weekend — a vibrant party celebrating Nigeria’s Independence.

Expect:

Live DJs and Afrobeat music to keep you on the dance floor all night.

A crowd dressed in stylish Nigerian attire and cultural themes.

Special performances and shoutouts honoring Nigerian heritage.

A space filled with energy, joy, and community pride.

💃 Free entry for women until 11:30 PM.

🎟 General entry: $15 (early arrival recommended).

This is the night to show up in your best green-and-white outfit and experience the unity, pride, and fun of Nigerian culture right here in Raleigh.

Day 3 – Cultural Day Celebration

Peace & Saint, Durham

Sunday, Sept 28 | 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

We close out the weekend with a family-friendly cultural festival that brings everyone together. Perfect for all ages, the Cultural Day is about honoring Nigeria’s traditions and showcasing them in a way that unites the broader RDU community.

Highlights include:

Food trucks and vendors offering authentic Nigerian dishes and fusion flavors.

Live performances including music, dance, and spoken word.

Cultural showcases and fashion that highlight the beauty of Nigerian attire.

Kids-friendly activities, making this the ideal event for families.
