Tia Hassell

In celebration of International Women's Day, Raleigh With Us proudly shines a spotlight on Tia Hassell, a visionary leader dedicated to empowering women through fitness and social justice.
As the founder of Fitness for Thickies, Tia has built a movement that encourages women to embrace their strength, health, and confidence at every stage of their fitness journey. Through her Fitness for Thickies app, she provides personalized workout plans, meal ideas, and a supportive community, helping members achieve their fitness goals while fostering a sense of belonging. Beyond fitness, Tia serves as the Director of Operations at National Bail Out (NBO), a Black-led collective working to abolish pretrial detention and dismantle the prison industrial complex. NBO’s Black Mama’s Bail Out initiative reunites Black mothers and caregivers with their families in time for Mother’s Day, shedding light on the injustices of the cash bail system.
