A North Carolina–based visual artist, muralist, and art educator, Janice creates artwork that celebrates culture, community, and identity. Through portraiture and vibrant visual storytelling, her work highlights influential figures while honoring the beauty and legacy of Black expression.
Background & Bio :
With dual advanced degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education, Janice blends artistic mastery with a passion for education and community engagement. Through her creative practice and business, Art With Withers, she produces vibrant paintings and murals that explore culture, history, and personal storytelling. Her work has been featured in galleries, community spaces, and cultural events across the Raleigh–Durham area, where it continues to inspire connection and reflection through art.
Notable Achievements :
• Featured artist in The Creative Lives of Educators: NCMA Teacher Exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.
• Participating artist in the Living in Color exhibition curated by the Raleigh Film and Arts Festival at Dix Park’s All Faiths Chapel.
• Founder of Art With Withers, creating paintings, murals, and portrait work that celebrate cultural storytelling.
