Building community is at the heart of Essynce Henderson’s work. As the Founder and CEO of Sisters in the Triangle (SIT), she is creating spaces where minority women across the Raleigh–Durham area can connect, build friendships, and feel a true sense of belonging.
Background & Bio :
After relocating to Raleigh in 2024 and experiencing the challenges of building community in a new city, Essynce turned that experience into a powerful movement. What began as an informal gathering space quickly evolved into Sisters in the Triangle, a thriving community organization dedicated to connection, support, and empowerment for minority women across the Triangle. Essynce leads the organization with empathy, intentionality, and a deep commitment to creating welcoming spaces where women can feel at home, no matter where they come from.
Notable Achievements :
Founder & CEO of Sisters in the Triangle (SIT), a rapidly growing community for minority women in the Raleigh–Durham area.
Grew the organization to 3,500+ members in under a year, built through authentic relationships and word-of-mouth growth.
Established a recurring event ecosystem that consistently brings women together through community-centered gatherings across the Triangle.
Community Impact :
Through Sisters in the Triangle, Essynce has created a vibrant network where women can build meaningful friendships, expand their support systems, and feel connected within a new city. The organization’s events and gatherings continue to strengthen community ties while empowering women to show up authentically and support one another.
